An easy & relaxing full-body stretching routine

that can ease the feeling of stiffness or those common aches

and pains that are worse in the morning.

The Stretching Sloth video is a mental & physical health maintenance programme - designed to be included in your day as an extra boost to a healthy lifestyle or as a kick-starter for overcoming a sedentary lifestyle.

It's good for old or young joints alike, and it's a great way to start the day.

The videos can be viewed anytime, anywhere - even (and ideally) in bed!

These videos are great for:

  • Moving the body more, especially if you wake up feeling stiff and sore.
  • Anyone who loses balance easily and can't stretch standing up.
  • People who want to stretch more but don't have the time.

You can watch the Sleep'n'Stretch videos anytime and anywhere you chose to lie down. The routine includes movement for all the major muscle groups, along with a short guided mindfulness practice at the end. Movement and mindfulness have been proven to help for pain relief.

The videos are available to purchase and download, can be watched from any device and have easy to follow instructions. You can pause and review whenever you wish to and they cater to all levels of fitness, as your body and circumstances will dictate how much you can do.

The stretches are best done just after you wake up in the morning, so you feel motivated to jump out of bed without those common stiff areas in the neck, back, hips, knees or ankles.

At night works well too, as a relaxing preparation for sleep.

These stretches are designed to fit your lifestyle!

Benefits of the Sleep'n'Stretch routine:

Easy & safe

Easy-to-follow instructions & a flowing routine that gets you moving all the common 'sticky' joint areas, with no chance of you falling over.

Back & neck pain?

Great for non specific lower back or neck pain with gentle and supported flexion and extension movements. Motion is lotion. Movement is medicine.

No lycra, no gym!

Just you in your pyjamas, moving your body in the warmth and comfort of your own bed. (Partners and pets are welcome to join in though!)

Cheap & Downloadable

Only $20 to watch the videos whenever and wherever you happen to be lying down. (We'd love you to share the link to this page with friends & family, just not the videos).

No time?

Just take as much time as you can, and do as many movements as you like. We recommend doing as much of the routine as your body allows, twice a week.

New Paragraph

Why stretch? What are the benefits and what are the risks?

It turns out it's not the stretching part that is so beneficial in the long term, it's the movement of the body and joints through their full 'Range of Motion' (ROM) with resistance, that gains long term benefits and potential pain relief.

So you have informed consent before you purchase these videos, below are some resources for you to view on how stretching & moving your body more could benefit you personally and to decide if our video's are right for your body right now.

Disclaimers and when not to stretch

These videos are meant as a guide only and are not be to substituted for medical advice from your GP, physio or other healthcare provider.

They are designed primarily to get you moving in the morning and ease the common stiffness felt when getting out of bed.

If you are still feeling a pain or an ache in a joint or muscle after a few good stretches, please do go and get advice from a medical professional.

Every body is unique with different trauma earned along the road of life. Use your own body as the gauge for when to stop a movement. Generally, stretching up to the first point of pain/resistance is a good place to stop until you gain confidence in what your body can do (and how it can adapt over time). Please don't stretch a recently diagnosed strained muscle, it's already been over-stretched and needs to heal.

Who is 'The Stretching Sloth' and how did these videos come about?

Thea started The Stretching Sloth back in 2018 as a way to try and get her clients to easily do some movement homework.  To the right is an article in The Lincoln Community Newsletter, where she bares all.
