Remedial & Recovery Massage

Deep tissue therapeutic massage can prevent musculoskeletal injuries or pain gained

through lack of mobility or overuse (hypertonic) in a specific muscle group.

Finding the right balance between muscle tone (strength) and flexibility is a key part of

living without lifestyle or sport induced musculoskeletal pain.

Book for a remedial / therapeutic massage if you are training for or recovering from a

particular sport event, wanting specific treatment work on a joint or experiencing:

  • Muscular tension & pain during day to day movement
  • Tension headaches with no known diagnosable cause (Trigger point therapy can help)
  • Tendonitis or bursitis (we help with unhelpful compensation patterns)
  • Diagnosed conditions like tennis/golfers elbow, wry neck, sciatica or frozen shoulder
  • If you're rehabilitating after an injury or operation
  • If you suffer from chronic pain
  • If your back 'went out' just bending down picking up that pencil ;)

Remedial/Therapeutic Massage

Soft Tissue Therapy

Deep tissue therapeutic massage is an effective method for you to take

charge of your own health and wellbeing.

We focus on functional outcomes from maladaptive posture compensation and pain relief from musculoskeletal tension.

No referrals are needed to see a massage therapist.

- like other Complimentary and Alternative (CAM) therapy -

Massage helps some people, with some types of pain, some of the time.

Clients can leave with huge relief from that deep ache they've had for months or with the knowing that, even though we've just scratched the surface of their painful issue, there is light at the end of their chronic pain journey.

We aren't magicians, but we will do our best to check if your muscles could be a cause of your body pain.

Please do see your Dr or a physio if you are worried about a body pain.

Do you suffer from a long-term sports injury that gives you chronic pain?

Do you have a burning sensation between your shoulder blades?

Are you training for a sports event?

Are you ignoring that niggle in your back?

Did you wake up this morning with a sore neck?

Our Approach

A treatment at A Little R & R is an in-depth look at how the body moves as a whole. Each new client can receive a postural analysis if desired before any hands-on work begins.  Chronic pain can be challenging to manage, rarely encompasses just one part of you and is best improved when we work with other health professionals to form a comprehensive treatment plan.

Your therapist will discuss your particular pain in-depth and view how any musculoskeletal restrictions could be affecting your gait or overall movement, to assess if there might be a postural stress aggravating chronic body or joint pain e.g. muscular imbalance due to previous injury or laziness (hypotonicity) in a certain muscle group.

They will then discuss your individual treatment plan and work with you over

3 to 6 to 'many' treatments to help dissolve your pain, so you can return to a movement pattern that is as pain free as possible.

A remedial/therapeutic massage can play an important role for every body type

and level of fitness. It is important to keep your soft tissue maintained i.e.

hydrated, toned and stretched to allow your body to move freely without pain,

as it is designed to do, and avoid injuries from inflexibility.
