Born in the UK, I moved to Christchurch in 2008 especially to study at the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine, gaining a Diploma of Massage in 2010. I chose massage as a career change from Law, after feeling the incredible benefits massage gave me after my 2nd knee operation. I've never looked back.
I specialise in noticing posture stresses on the musculoskeletal system, Trigger Point Therapy, myofascial and deep tissue body work along with bloody good pregnancy massage.
When I'm not working hands-on with humans, I'm working hands-on with plants and creating a forest garden with food resilience in mind.
I work with a range of people from workaholics to athletes to pregnant women and believe massage and education can assist in all areas of your life. Prior to moving back to Christchurch I worked at a clinic in Nelson for six years as well as managed a Health Spa in Kaiteriteri for four years. In the past, I have had the opportunity to work with many sports teams including the Crusaders and All Blacks.
My style of massage is a combination of techniques including Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger point therapy. Each client is treated individually and given a treatment that best suits their needs. I completed my advanced pregnancy massage training in 2021. In my spare time, I love getting into the mountains, spending time with family and friends and doing the odd spot of DIY.
I’ve lived in Christchurch for most of my life, and before delving into the world of massage my career has been mainly equine related. Although I still have a strong passion for horses, various injuries made me look into the path of helping the body to heal - after noticing first hand how beneficial touch can be. The more I learnt (and continue to learn) about massage the more I appreciate the human body and the stressors it can withstand.
My aim with massage is to give the feel that I like to receive - leaving one feeling that they have been worked on, while also instilling a feeling of relaxation to the body through the tension leaving the muscles. I use a various techniques including myofascial release, deep tissue work & trigger point release.
When I’m not busy massaging I’m usually found with my dog and a horse or two! With my own horse to ride, and being heavily involved in a local Pony Club - I’m often found out horsing around!
I have 12 years experience in relaxation therapy and I completed my advanced pregnancy massage training in 2023. Relaxation massage encourages the nervous system to calm, making it wonderful for physical and mental relaxation.
I offer a medium or light pressure massage with a good balance of deep flowing strokes and kneading for tighter areas, along with the aromatic addition of essential oils. I blend my own range of beautiful herbal treatment oils that clients get to experience during a session. These are available to purchase if you should fall in love with them as much as I love making them.
A passion of mine is yoga and in 2018 I trained as a yoga teacher. I enjoy teaching beginners and helping people to implement a safe, beneficial and enjoyable home practice that includes postures, breath exercises, and meditation. I hold a Certificate in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
Originally from the United States, I moved to New Zealand in 1983.I graduated from the College of Natural Medicine in 2003. I previously worked for Halswell physiotherapy and Lincoln Sports Med/Motus. I enjoy working with a variety of different people and believe massage can not only benefit pain or injury, but works to relieve emotional trauma and induce relaxation.
I am passionate about health and wellbeing and in combination with massage I have developed more knowledge through working with natural supplements and remedies at Health 2000. I live on a 19 acre lifestyle block in the country. I love being outside, tramping, swimming in the ocean, walking the dogs and spending time with friends and family.
I am originally from Sydney, Australia. Since I graduated I have massaged part-time whilst studying Psychology, human geography, Nursing and Pilates. For a brief period I worked as Registered Nurse before returning to what I loved, massage, with the complementary addition of Pilates.
To me the privilege of being able to focus on and be present with one person for a whole hour or more is such a rarity and a joy.
I truly believe in the physical, emotional and mental benefits of tactile therapies. In my treatments I combine a number of modalities such as Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial release, Sports massage and Deep tissue massage to provide individualised care.
Outside of work I love to spend time adventuring with my kids, hiking, swimming,
